Course Description

American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Recognizes the Educational Content of this Program.

The Northern California Shoulder & Elbow Course

From Generalist to Specialist

The Northern California Shoulder and Elbow Course (NCSEC) was developed by orthopedic surgeons to provide current, effective, and practical learning opportunities. Our driving goal is to bridge the gap between academic sub-specialist concepts and the everyday clinical dilemmas that face the frontline orthopedist.

As an alternative to the standard course format, participants will discuss and debate directly with faculty and make connections to form a career-long network.

Attendees leave the course armed with the latest in shoulder and elbow knowledge and skills to advance their personal practice, enhance patient care and improve outcomes.

The course is open to all orthopedic surgeons, fellows and senior residents (PGY 4-5) with an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery.

This year, the NCSEC will be highlighting emerging concepts, controversies, and technologies in shoulder and elbow surgery. We will be discussing how these advances fit into the modern paradigm shift to minimally invasive techniques, ortho-biologic treatments, and practice management in a post-COVID-19 world.

We are fortunate to have gathered an outstanding expert faculty who have helped develop and refine some of these innovations.

Attendees will not only have the opportunity to discuss these concepts and controversies directly with faculty but also learn from their “Re-Live” techniques demonstrations, listen to them debate how these are indicated in modern practice, and experience hands-on workshops with emerging technologies.
