Samer S. Hasan, MD, PhD

Dr. Samer S. Hasan is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and shoulder and elbow specialist. Dr. Hasan received his MD and PhD in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Rush University in Chicago followed by shoulder and elbow fellowships at the University of Washington in Seattle and at the Texas Orthopaedic Hospital in Houston.
Since 2000 he has been in practice at Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Hasan holds a CAQ in sports medicine and is a Fellow of the AAOS and member of ASES, AANA, AOSSM, and ORS. He is on the editorial board of Arthroscopy and of Orthopedics Today and is an Elite Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has authored nearly 60 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has been an invited speaker on 4 continents. He recently co-edited a 20 chapter online AAOS course on Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty and previously co-edited an AAOS monograph on Disorders of the Proximal Biceps Tendon.
Dr. Hasan’s clinical interests include shoulder replacement surgery, arthroscopic treatment of large and massive rotator cuff tears, operative treatment of shoulder instability as well as the treatment of shoulder arthritis in young patients.
