Dr. Diane Nam is a clinician scientist in the Holland Bone and Joint Program/Biological Sciences Platform at Sunnybrook Research Institute and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. She is an orthopaedic trauma surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center with expertise in polytraumatic conditions of the upper limb.
While Dr. Nam is an established scientist having received numerous peer-reviewed grant funding to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms in bone regeneration and is currently leading a randomized controlled clinical trial in fracture treatment, she also has a high-volume elective clinical practice managing complex tertiary referrals in revision shoulder and elbow arthroplasty and tendon reconstruction. She provides a unique perspective as an academic translational upper limb surgeon combining her clinical interests in orthopaedic trauma and fundamental research.
